Indiana is targeting West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries to be the next man at the helm for the Hoosiers, per Pete Thamel, and as reported by Trilly Donovan in his Burner Ball Discord before that.

DeVries spent one season at West Virginia after six at Drake, where he made three NCAA Tournaments. In his lone season in Morgantown, he lost his star player, son Tucker, to injury in December, but portal addition Javon Small filled the void in a big way, and the Mountaineers exceeded expectations all the way until the end of the season, where a loss on Wednesday of the Big 12 Tournament to Colorado may have cost WVU a spot in the NCAA Tournament, missing as the first team out.

Many believed that the Mountaineers were snubbed, as every bracket on the Bracket Matrix had them in.

I believe that Tucker has one more year of eligibility, due to a medical redshirt for this season, and one would think he'd spend that year with DeVries at Indiana.

Indiana also missed the NCAA Tournament in a possible snub, as the second team out in the final season under Mike Woodson, who announced in February that he'd be stepping down. Michigan head coach Dusty May was the early favorite, but he signed an extension, and Brad Stevens isn't leaving the Celtics for a college job, so the search continued until it found DeVries.

West Virginia needs a new head coach once again.
