A wild SoCon Tournament concluded on Monday night with an appropriate championship game. For the last seven years, the SoCon has been won by the top seed, but in the last six years, it has been won by six different programs. In a year where six teams were solid, it was Wofford, the six seed that got it done to get to the NCAA Tournament.

Dwight Perry, who was once a graduate assistant under Shaka Smart at VCU, gets Wofford to the tournament in his third year heading the program. Perry has worked his way up the ladder within the Wofford program and was an assistant on the team that won an NCAA Tournament game in 2019.

The Terriers got it done tonight with shooting, rebounding and of course, free throws to close it out. Jackson Sivills led the team with 20, but it was a real team effort all the way down to Kyler Filewich’s underhand free throw shooting which grabbed national attention this week.

In terms of seeding, Bracket Matrix had Wofford projected as a 15 seed although there will need to be updates to get a more precise measure. Wofford was the lower seed entering the championship game against Furman so tomorrow morning we will have a better idea of where the Terriers will find themselves on Selection Sunday.
